In 2012, at the age of 36, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. An estimated six million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) — a chronic neurodegenerative disorder.
There is no cure for Parkinson's Disease, the gold standard for treatment (Levidopa) is decades old. Newer treatments have been introduced in the last 10 to 20 years that have helped changed the way PD is managed, but no medication is perfect. They have trade offs. Side effects that can be as bad as PD itself. This is where organization like the Michael J Fox Foundation (MJFF) come in.
MJFF is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. A goal of the MJFF is to close the foundation's doors for good by curing Parkinson's.
Your gift will make a real difference: 100 percent of Tour de Fox Pacific Northwest ride proceeds will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s high-impact research programs.
Help me move a cure for Parkinson's disease forward by making a donation today. And if you feel like joining me on August 29th 2020 in biking for a cure, join my team. I will gladly match your registration fee by donating to your ride.
