8/29/20 Ride Update: I rode 56 miles in 5 hours around Portland and had a blast! Thanks to everyone for the support and generosity for this very meaningful cause. Stay safe.
Hi - Thanks for visiting my page.
On August 29, 2020, I will be participating in the Michael J. Fox Foundation's (MJFF) Tour de Fox Cycling Series for Parkinson's Research with a 56-mile bike ride around Portland.
My motivation is very personal...
My Mom passed away in mid-May from complications related to Parkinson's disease (PD). She was diagnosed in 2018 and I witnessed up close how cruel this disease is. My family did all we could to help Mom live with it. She battled it bravely, taking her daily medication and exercising regularly (on her recumbent bike!) -- the only two things known to slow the onset of the many challenges a Parkinson's patient experiences.
PD is a chronic neuro-degenerative disorder that leads to the passing of more than 150,000 adults each year in the US. An estimated 6 million people live with it worldwide (about 1 million in the US). There is NO KNOWN CURE.
The world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research, MJFF is working to change this by aggressively funding research and ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
I want to Punch Out Parkinson's to honor my Mom and to help others who face this disease. Help find a cure for Parkinson's disease by making a donation today. Your gift will make a real difference: 100 percent of proceeds will go directly to MJFF's high-impact research programs.
Thank you for your support!
