Thank you for visiting our team’s page! This year, we are taking part in the Tour de Fox Atlanta ride for Parkinson's Research to support the work of The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF).
If you're a patient of ours you've probably met Mary Kathleen, our in-house Wordsmith and social media manager. Mary Kathleen's father was diagnosed with PD in 2009, so this ride is dear to us in the Functionize Family.
Since her father's diagnosis, one of Mary Kathleen's dreams has been to ride in the Tour de Fox, but she has been (admittedly) too nervous to do so. We are incredibly excited about this opportunity to not only raise money for such a special cause, but to help her achieve something she's wanted to do for nearly a decade. Now that she's living in the same city as a ride, she can't back down! ;)
But, it's not just Mary Kathleen's father who's affected. An estimated six million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) — a chronic neurodegenerative disorder. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s. As the world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research, MJFF is working to change this.
MJFF is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
Your gift will make a real difference: 100 percent of Tour de Fox Atlanta ride proceeds will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s high-impact research programs.
Help us move a cure for Parkinson's disease forward by making a donation today.
