“The power of the Parkinson’s community to bring about change can’t be overstated."
- Michael J. Fox

Today’s Tour de Fox Series celebrates the energy and spirit of the Parkinson’s community by bringing together thousands of passionate fundraisers to strap on their helmets and push critical research forward. Initially led by ultra-athlete and former Foundation employee Sam Fox (no relation to Michael J. Fox) in 2015, the first Tour was a three-month climbing, biking and hiking adventure that passed through all 48 of the contiguous United States and into Canada.
The first iteration of the Tour united more than 3,000 members of the Parkinson’s community, including patients and their loved ones. In total, 2015’s Tour de Fox raised $2.5 million in support of critical Parkinson’s research, more than doubling the original $1-million goal. The short film below tells the story of those who made the 2015 Tour de Fox so incredible.
In summer 2016, inspired by the success and passion of its first year, the Tour again mobilized the Parkinson’s community to take part — but this time, with a new look and feel. In three cycling events across the United States and Canada, the 2016 Tour de Fox Series gathered more than 900 cyclists, galvanized 5,700 donations and raised an incredible $830,000 in support of the Foundation’s high-impact programs.

The 2017 Tour de Fox Series expanded from three (Great Lakes, Pacific Northwest, and Wine Country rides)  to four rides, adding the Blue Ridge ride in Greenville, SC.  While it was our first year hosting the ride in th
e Southeast region, the Parkinson's community mobilized an impressive turnout for this singular event and the entire series! We welcomed 1,221 cyclists (97 of whom live with PD) and raised over $1.17 million towards accelerating a cure.  In 2018, we welcomed two new locations (The Tri-State ride in Madison, NJ and Lone Star ride in Dallas, TX) helping to bring together 1,266 cyclists together and raising over the million dollar mark once again. With the new Atlanta ride added for 2019, we are thrilled to once again be pedaling for the cure!
